While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to your safety and health. By its very nature, massage and bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact and you should be familiar with the fact that infection control has always been a top priority for my practice. As we navigate life with additional requirements and modify existing measures due to COVID-19, please help me to support all of my clients by cooperating with some new requirements.
My practice follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (AMBP). You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. I made these changes to help protect my clients and myself.
Arriving to your appointment: When you arrive for your next appointment, I ask that you wait in your vehicle and text or call that you have arrived. Please arrive only 10 minutes early. I will go over health information and potential exposure to COVID-19 with you at this time and let you know when I’m ready for you to come in. This ensures that we don’t have too many people in the reception area at one time. If you don’t have access to a cell phone. Please come in and wait in the hallway and I will wave you in.
Face Mask Required: Please wear a face mask while you are in the building and during your massage. Ear loop masks work best for massage. One can be purchased for $2 if you forget one. Face masks are required to be worn by both therapist and client during your appointment.
How are you feeling? If you feel ill on the day of your appointment or have had a fever in the last 24 hours, there is no penalty for canceling and rescheduling. Massage is not advised if you have ANY symptoms of illness. If you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or any respiratory or flu symptoms, sore throat, shortness of breath, chills, all over muscle aches, new loss of taste or smell, new rash, gastrointestinal symptoms, uncommon headache or If you have been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been tested positive for COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms we will need to reschedule your appointment.
Limit Carry in items: When safe to do so please limit the items you bring into the space and not wear medical gloves.
No Additional Guests: No extra people are to accompany you for your appointment unless you are the guardian of a minor receiving bodywork.
Temperature Screening: I will greet you at the door and use a no touch thermal temperature screening to confirm that you don’t have a fever. If you have a fever over 100 degrees F or above, I will need to reschedule your appointment.
Consent Form: I will ask you to sign an informed consent form that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from this practitioner.”
Hand Washing: There is a sink in the office and I ask that you wash your hands when you enter for 20 seconds before your massage. Hand sanitizer is available in the massage room for you to use before going on the table and exiting.
End of Session: When you are dressed after your session, sanitize your hands and please open the door and we will conclude your transaction in the therapy room. I ask that you exit the office after your session to allow me time to sanitize the space for the next client.
Are you at higher risk for COVID -19? While information is still limited and ever changing, the CDC indicates some underlying conditions place people at higher risk for severe illness from COVID -19. A weak or compromised immune system (including and not limited to, conditions like diabetes, asthma, COPD, cancer treatment, radiation, chemotherapy, and any other prior or current disease or medical condition can put you at a greater risk for contracting COVID -19. Please disclose to me any condition that compromises your immune system and understand that I can ask you to consider rescheduling treatment to a later date. . Treatment Rooms & Common Areas: I have added extra time between clients to make sure treatment rooms and common areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each client. Including massage tables, door handles, tables, chairs, light switches, pens and other commonly used surfaces. All linens and top blankets will be clean for each client and only single cup lotion will be used.

My safety: In order to continue to do my job well I need to remain healthy. I will stay home if I exhibit any symptoms of COVID- 19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive. I have the right to refuse a client I professionally feel puts me at a higher risk for exposer.
